During his African Tour, Obama (Barack, Michelle, Sacha and Malia) will halt in Gorée Isd. , (Senegal) on thursday afternoon, before heading to South Africa where Mandela is struggling for living. A day we a goU.S. President Barack Obama arrived Wednesday in Dakar, the first stage of an African tour that will then lead in South Africa and Tanzania, said a journalist from AFP. The African tour of President Obama begins when the former South African president Nelson Mandela, hero of the anti-apartheid struggle, 94 years old Madiba, is in critical condition at a hospital in Pretoria. Obama, accompanied by his wife Michelle and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha, was welcomed by his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall. It should stay in Dakar until Friday morning. Thursday morning, he will give a joint press conference with President Sall then will go to the Supreme Court where he will deliver a speech on the Rule of Law. In the afternoon he will visit family on the island of Goree, off Dakar, landmark memory of the slave trade. Also, The president Barack Obama will probably meet Koumba Kastel, the genius of the place, during his trip to Gorée and will also visit the Museum House of Slaves.
